Clean up your snacking! 50 snack ideas and recipes for when you want something different!
Friends, it’s Hump Day and I don’t even know where this week is going….or this year because HELLO SEPTEMBER tomorrow! What?!
Since the girl’s are back in school and I don’t have to make lunch for anyone around lunch time, I’ve become a total snacker. I snack on everything I can find in my house! This is why I try not to keep junk in my fridge. I say “in my fridge” because I do have cookie jars on my kitchen island, but those cookies are solely for guests and decoration. 😉
When I am looking for something to snack on, I’m looking in my refrigerator because that’s where most of the healthy stuff is! I also try to have some pre-made choices in there like chickpea salad, fruit salad, or no-bake energy balls. Those are for when you’re hungry, but you want something to eat that isn’t an apple.
The other day my daughter Sophia asked for a snack a couple hours before dinner. I gave her a choice of carrots or yogurt. She didn’t want either of those choices. I heard my mom come out of my mouth when I said “well if you don’t want any of those then you must not be that hungry!” LOL But I know I’m the same way, and sometimes you just want something different. Different does not have to equal junk food though.
