A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of driving around the 2017 Audi Q7 for the weekend. It became our family car for a couple days and I asked feedback from all family members. Here’s a glimpse into the new 2017 Audi Q7
First, let’s talk about what a “mom car” is. I’m pretty sure every car that is classified in society as a “mom car” is also driven by someone who isn’t a mom.
I’m going to define a “mom car” as a vehicle with room for car seats and/or kids, plus extra bells and whistles that make life a little bit easier for a mom.
(These features are also great for dads, uncles, aunts, grandmothers, kid-less friends, etc.)
The 2017 Audi Q7 is the ULTIMATE FAMILY CAR.
I substituted the word “mom” for “family” since my husband would of liked to claim the Q7 as his!
I’ve always liked Audi and may find the weirdest things to obsess over in cars, but I think their headlights are breathtaking. I LOVE THEM…but let’s continue…
Once I got behind the wheel, my obsession with the headlights expanded to the entire car!
The Audi Q7 is a luxury crossover SUV that drives more like a sporty sedan. It has tremendous power in it’s V6 supercharged engine, which is a total dad feature. The ride was incredibly smooth without giving the feeling of driving a bus. Plus, with room for 7 passengers, it’s a party…or a trip to soccer practice.
My initial experience with the Audi Q7 was like sitting down in the future. The inside is insanely packed with technology. The Virtual Cockpit had me in a stare for some time.
Powered by GoogleEarth, everything is directly in front of you! Loaded with features like Traffic Sign and Traffic Jam recognition, the virtual cockpit brings all the outside world information right in front of you! This means the Q7 has the capabilities of detecting upcoming speed limit signs, school and construction zones signs, then gives you the information on the virtual cockpit. With all these extra features and technology available in the Audi Q7, it made driving (with kids) super simple. I’m guilty of paying more attention to screaming/fighting/angel little kids in the back seat than the road sometimes. A water bottle drops or you’re trying to change out the movie for your kids, these little things that quickly take your attention from the road are dangerous. The Audi Q7 brings you back to the road and puts it right in front of your face…Virtual Cockpit style.
I could go on and on about the Virtual Cockpit, but there’s so many other features!
Vehicle Active Lane Assist — Extremely helpful while cruising around town. When attempting to switch lanes, the Q7 will let you know if there are any approaching cars in the lane next to you!
Panoramic sunroof — This was my kid’s favorite part, often letting me know they could see the sun/clouds/rain/moons/stars! It was kind of therapeutic!
Sound/Music System — Two types of sound packages are available in the 2017 Q7. The BOSE sound package is standard and far pleasing! BUT the impressive Bang & Olufsen sound system is also available to take it up a notch! Which ever sound system you choose, each will make your selection of entertainment sound amazing! Equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology to stream audio from your smart phone, we jammed out to Pandora Disney Radio on our way to International Mall. Audi Smartphone integration including Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto is also a feature in the Q7!
The 2017 Audi Q7 is definitely a “cool mom” car and looks perfect on your upcoming Mother’s Day wish list! 😉 It also looks perfect in front of your house…or house to be!
